FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know the fit of the garment if they are one size?

Most of our cotton knit pieces are made as one size.
Please check the product description to see approximate measurements and which size range we recommend.
Our fabric is super stretchy and will stretch to your body's curves and contours.
Expect a more relaxed look on sizes 6-10, and a more fitted look for sizes 12 and up.

Is your clothing maternity friendly?

Yes it is! Not only is our clothing maternity friendly, we doubt you'll wear anything else.
Our 4-way stretch cotton is incredibly comfortable, breathable and stretchable.
Your Fabric of Society will stretch with you from week 1 to week 40 and beyond.

How do I care for my Fabric of Society?

Our cotton knit and rayon fabric is hand woven and dyed.

Machine wash friendly.
Place in a lingerie bag or pillowcase to reduce tangling and stretching in the machine.
Line dry. Only use dryer for a short time, do not over dry.
Do not bleach. Do not dry-clean.

If your garment has been dyed, please wash your garment separately in cold water for the first wash as dye may run on first wash only.

If your garment has stretched and you would like to shrink it back, we recommend sun drying until almost dry and then pop it in the dryer for a short period.

What is remnant yarn?

Remnant yarn is considered the salvaged fabric waste from production that would otherwise end up in landfill.
The waste fabric is brought together and spun by twisting the fibres to make a new, cohesive thread.
Our remnant yarn is woven in Australia and is 100% cotton unless stated otherwise in the product description.

Can I dye the natural, undyed garments myself?

Yes you can! Our 100% cotton, natural undyed pieces are perfect for home dying especially tie dye, shibori, and botanical eco dye.
Follow the dye instructions of your chosen dye and technique.
Don't forget to show us a photo of your beautiful creation, we love to see all the ways our pieces are worn and customised.
Please note : We are not responsible for any home dye outcome, we suggest test dying first on a similar fabric before dying your Fabric of Society piece.
